If the itchiness is localized, you may change the amount to 3 parts of baking powder to one for water. Baking soda is used as a mouth cleanser and thanks to its anti-bacterial and anti-oxidant properties, it will give you the relief that you need for your itchy skin.

Oatmeal mix

For soothing and cooling effect, spread the oatmeal mix on the irritated skin. For effective treatment, use colloidal oatmeal and some warm water. Avoid using very hot water as this could cause worsen the situation.


There is a variety of oils that one can use as remedies for itchy skin. Examples of these oils include linseed oil, chamomile oil, peppermint and neem oil to mention but a few. These oils are rich in substances that help in alleviating and soothing the itchiness in the skin.

Cold water vs. hot water
